Wink Poppy Midnight (2016) is told in three alternating voices. Wink is the strange, red-haired neighbor. Poppy is the manipulative queen bee. Midnight is the boy caught between them. The novel plays with fairy-tale structure to explore manipulation, identity, and who is really the villain of the story.
The Boneless Mercies (2018) reimagines Beowulf with a group of girls called the Boneless Mercies, who are hired to deliver painless deaths. Their leader Frey decides to pursue glory instead, leading the group to fight a monster no man has been able to kill. Seven Endless Forests (2020) is set in the same Norse-inspired world and retells King Arthur. Torvi’s sister is kidnapped by a wolf-priest, and Torvi joins a band of traveling performers called the Butcher Bards to rescue her. The Boneless Mercies received starred reviews and was a Publishers Weekly Best Book of 2018.
