The Apocalypse Crusade by Peter Meredith is a five-book subseries within the larger Undead World franchise. While the main Undead World series follows survivors after civilization has collapsed, the Apocalypse Crusade books cover the opening days of the zombie outbreak in detail.
The series is titled “War of the Undead” and each book covers a single day, starting with Day One (2014) and running through Day V (2019). The format gives the books a ticking-clock intensity as the infection spreads and the military scrambles to contain it.
