Antoine Wilson’s three standalone novels show an author working through different narrative forms with each book. The Interloper (2007) is a psychological study of a man who becomes obsessed with another person. Panorama City (2012) uses a monologue structure, with a man recording life advice for his unborn son while reflecting on his own innocent misunderstandings of the world.
Mouth to Mouth (2022) is the most recent and most widely read of the three. The novel compresses a story of rescue, guilt, and ambition into a chance meeting on an airplane, and the short page count makes it an easy book to finish in a single sitting. Wilson writes infrequently but carefully, and each novel takes a distinct formal approach.
