Amy Lynn Green’s five novels are all set during World War II but each stands on its own with a different cast, setting, and storyline. Things We Didn’t Say (2020) is an epistolary novel set at a Minnesota POW camp. The Lines Between Us (2021) follows conscientious objectors fighting forest fires in Oregon alongside a Women’s Army Corps member. The Blackout Book Club (2022) takes place in a small Maine town where a makeshift librarian starts a book club to save her library during wartime.
The Foxhole Victory Tour (2024) is based on true stories of USO variety shows, sending a ragtag group of performers across North Africa as they compete for a Hollywood contract. The Codebreaker’s Daughter (2025) spans both World Wars, following a young intelligence worker in Washington who discovers her mother was once a codebreaker during the Great War. Green’s research into real wartime programs – conscientious objector camps, dim-out regulations, OSS operations – gives each novel a specific historical texture that goes beyond the typical WWII setting.
