Amanda Flower’s Amish Matchmaker Mysteries follow Millie Fisher, an Amish matchmaker in Harvest, Ohio. Matchmaking Can Be Murder (2019) introduces Millie, who discovers that her matchmaking skills also help her solve murders. The series continues through Newlyweds Can Be Knocked Off (2025).
Each title in the main matchmaker series follows the “Can Be” naming convention: Courting Can Be Killer (2020), Marriage Can Be Mischief (2021), Honeymoons Can Be Hazardous (2022), and Dating Can Be Deadly (2023). The series also includes earlier mystery entries like Murder, Plain and Simple (2013) set in the same community, giving longtime readers additional backstory for the Harvest setting.
Flower writes the Amish Matchmaker books alongside her Amish Candy Shop Mysteries, and the two series share the same small Ohio town. Millie is an older protagonist, which sets this series apart from many cozy mysteries that feature younger amateur sleuths. Her age gives her a different perspective on the community, and her matchmaking sideline puts her in contact with nearly everyone in town.
