Alistair MacLean’s UNACO is a ten-book thriller series set within a fictional United Nations anti-crime agency. MacLean created the concept and wrote story outlines, but the novels themselves were written by three different authors: John Denis (1980-1981), Alastair MacNeill (1988-1993), and Hugh Miller (1997-1998).
The books feature international espionage and action plots. Hostage Tower (1980) launched the series, and the books continued at a steady pace through the late 1980s and early 1990s before concluding with Borrowed Time in 1998. Death Train, one of the Alastair MacNeill entries, was adapted into a television film.
