Aliens: Life and Death is a collected edition of the four-issue Aliens: Life and Death miniseries published by Dark Horse Comics in 2017. Written by Dan Abnett with art by Andrea Mutti, it forms part of the larger Life and Death crossover event that also included companion miniseries for Predator, Prometheus, and Alien vs. Predator.
The story follows Colonial Marines stranded on a hostile planet where they face Xenomorphs while dealing with the aftermath of events from the Prometheus: Life and Death storyline. The series is set in the broader Aliens expanded universe and assumes some familiarity with the franchise’s established lore. It functions as an action-heavy military science fiction story with horror elements consistent with the Aliens film series.
Dan Abnett brought his experience writing military science fiction, particularly from his Warhammer 40,000 work, to the project. The Life and Death crossover was one of Dark Horse’s final major Aliens projects before Marvel Comics acquired the licence.
