The Agent Hank Rawlings series shifts from local police work to federal law enforcement. Hank Rawlings is an FBI agent who investigates violent crimes that cross jurisdictional boundaries, taking him to different parts of the country rather than keeping him tied to a single city. The six books were published between 2015 and 2016, during the same period Reinhard was wrapping up his first Lieutenant Kane series.
Each book follows Rawlings through a distinct case, though the personal side of his life develops across the full series. The FBI setting gives Reinhard room to tell stories with higher stakes and wider reach than his Tampa-based detective fiction. The series was successful enough that Reinhard returned to the character several years later with the sequel series Agent Hank Rawlings - On The Hunt.
