The After Oil series collects speculative fiction exploring what happens when petroleum runs out. Four anthologies published between 2012 and 2016 progress from initial crisis (SF Visions of a Post-Petroleum World) through collapse (The Years of Crisis) to recovery (The Years of Rebirth) and distant futures (The Future’s Distant Shores). The series grew out of Greer’s non-fiction writing about peak oil and ecological limits.
