Beth Revis’s Across the Universe trilogy takes place aboard the Godspeed, a massive generation spaceship traveling to a new planet. The story begins when Amy, a teenager frozen in cryo for the centuries-long voyage, is thawed 50 years too early. Paired with Elder, the ship’s young leader-in-training, she discovers that life aboard Godspeed is far more controlled and dangerous than anyone on Earth could have imagined.
The trilogy continues with A Million Suns and Shades of Earth, raising the stakes as the ship’s society fractures and the passengers finally approach their destination. Revis builds tension through mystery elements, political intrigue among the shipboard population, and the growing relationship between Amy and Elder.
In addition to the three core novels, the series includes several companion short stories such as The Other Elder, As They Slip Away, Love Is A Choice, and Night Swimming, which fill in backstory and explore secondary characters. Foreign editions (including Czech translations) and anthology tie-ins round out the full list of related works.
