Rose Gardner is a character created by Denise Grover Swank. She lives in Fenton County, Arkansas, where her life changes when she has a vision of her own death during jury duty. Rather than shutting down, Rose decides to start living fully, and that decision pulls her into a series of murder investigations.
Rose is a mix of Southern charm and stubborn determination. Over the course of dozens of books, she grows from a sheltered woman controlled by her domineering mother into someone who runs her own business and stands up to criminals. Her best friend Neely Kate and her complicated relationships drive much of the personal drama alongside the mysteries.
