James Reece is a fictional character and protagonist of The Terminal List series created by Jack Carr. An ex-Navy SEAL, Reece has nothing left to live for and everything to kill for after he learns that the American government is behind the death of his team.
On his final combat deployment, Lieutenant Commander James Reece’s whole team was killed in a catastrophic ambush that claimed the lives of the aircrew sent in to rescue them. However, when those that are nearest and dearest to him are murdered the day he returns home, James learns that this wasn’t an act of war by a foreign foe but a conspiracy that runs up to the highest levels of government.
Now Reece, without any family and now free from the military’s command structure, applies the lessons that he has learned in more than a decade of constant warfare toward avenging the deaths of his teammates and family. Reece targets his foes ruthlessly in the upper echelons of power without any regard for the laws of combat or the rule of law.
