Charlie Fox is the protagonist of Zoe Sharp’s thriller series of the same name. Charlotte “Charlie” Fox is an ex-British Special Forces soldier who was drummed out of the military after reporting a sexual assault by four of her squadmates. She rebuilds her career first as a self-defence instructor and later as a professional close-protection operative, taking on dangerous bodyguard assignments around the world.
Lee Child endorsed the character with the line “If Jack Reacher were a woman, he’d be Charlie Fox.” The comparison fits: Charlie is a skilled fighter who relies on training, instinct, and controlled aggression to protect her clients and survive. The series follows her across 14 novels from Killer Instinct (2001) to Trial Under Fire (2021).
