Yuval Noah Harari is a historian at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem who became one of the most recognized non-fiction authors in the world with his book Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind. First published in Hebrew in 2011, Sapiens traces the full arc of human history from the Stone Age to the present. Its follow-up, Homo Deus, looks ahead at what might come next for the species, while 21 Lessons for the 21st Century addresses the political and social issues of today.

Before writing popular books, Harari focused on medieval military history. His academic work includes studies on Renaissance warfare, special operations in the Middle Ages, and contributions to the Warfare in History series published by Boydell Press. He has also adapted his ideas for younger readers through the Unstoppable Us series and brought Sapiens to a graphic novel format with artist David Vandermeulen.

Harari’s 2024 book Nexus examines the role of information networks throughout history. His writing draws on biology, anthropology, and economics to ask big questions about where humanity has been and where it might be headed.
