Will Leitch started his career as a journalist and founded Deadspin in 2005, one of the first major sports blogs. He has written for New York magazine, Bloomberg, and numerous other publications, and his sports commentary has made him a familiar voice in American media. His non-fiction books God Save the Fan and Are We Winning? reflect his passion for sports culture.
Leitch turned to fiction with Catch in 2005, but it was How Lucky (2021) that established him as a novelist. The book follows a man with a degenerative disease who witnesses a crime from his front porch, and it earned strong reviews for its tight plotting and distinctive narrator. He has continued writing fiction alongside his journalism work.
