Temptation Reading Order

Victoria Christopher Murray began her publishing career with Temptation in 1997 and has since built a large catalog of faith-centered fiction. Her longest-running series follows Jasmine Cox Larson Bush across seven novels, from Temptation through The Aftermath (2017). She also collaborated with ReShonda Tate Billingsley on the Jasmine and Rachel spinoff series, which ran for four books between 2012 and 2015. The Divas series (2008-2009) takes a different approach, with each of its four books named after a different protagonist.

Murray’s standalone novels make up the largest portion of her work, with fifteen titles spanning more than two decades. Among these, The Personal Librarian (2021), co-written with Marie Benedict, became her biggest commercial success. She continued the partnership with Marie Benedict for The First Ladies (2023), and her most recent novel, Harlem Rhapsody, arrived in 2025. Her earlier standalones like Joy (2002), Grown Folks Business (2003), and Stand Your Ground (2015) show a range that moves from domestic drama to stories with social commentary.
