Tracy Badua is a Filipino American author who writes for middle grade and young adult readers. By day she works as an attorney in national housing policy, and she writes in the hours between work and family time. She grew up in California, lived in Washington, D.C. for school and work, and now lives in San Diego.
Her debut novel, Freddie vs. The Family Curse (2022), draws on Filipino superstitions and family dynamics. She has since published several more books for young readers, including This Is Not a Personal Statement and The Cookie Crumbles. Her work has won the SCBWI Sid Fleischman Humor Award and the Children’s Literature Council of Southern California Award, and multiple titles have been selected as Junior Library Guild Gold Standards.
