Tony Nester is a wilderness survival instructor and author based in Flagstaff, Arizona, where he runs Ancient Pathways Survival School. He has over 30 years of experience teaching outdoor survival skills and his school provides desert survival training for the Military Special Operations community. He holds a BA in Anthropology and has worked with the NTSB, FAA, and various government agencies.
His Practical Survival book series covers everything from basic wilderness tips to specialized topics like knife-only survival, bushcraft, and disaster preparedness. Nester has been featured on NBC News, the Discovery Channel, and in the New York Times, and he writes for Outside Magazine. He also served as a technical consultant for the film Into The Wild.
