Susan Ee is a Korean-American author and USA Today bestseller. She was a lawyer before switching to writing, and she has said she prefers fiction because it lets her imagination go feral. Her books have been translated into over 20 languages.
Her best-known work is the Penryn and the End of Days trilogy, which began with Angelfall in 2011. Originally self-published, the book was picked up by Amazon Children’s Publishing and went on to appear in Time Magazine’s 100 Best Fantasy Books of All Time. The trilogy follows teenager Penryn Young through a world destroyed by an angel apocalypse. World After (2013) and End of Days (2015) completed the series.
Ee has also written the Midnight Tales series, which retells fairy tales like Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty with dark fantasy twists. Cinder and the Prince of Midnight (2019) and Ruby and the Huntsman of Midnight (2019) were followed by Briar and the Dreamers of Midnight (2021). Her short film work has screened at major festivals.
