Susan Cox was born in England and later moved to the United States, where she built a varied career as a journalist, nonprofit fundraiser, and marketing and public relations director for a safari park. After more than two decades in those fields, she turned to fiction writing full-time. Her debut novel, The Man on the Washing Machine, won the Mystery Writers of America/Minotaur Books First Crime Novel Competition in 2014 and was published by Minotaur Books in 2015.
Her Theo Bogart Mysteries follow Theophania “Theo” Bogart, a British woman who changed her name and fled to San Francisco to escape a high-profile family scandal back in England. Theo runs a soap shop called Aromas in a close-knit neighborhood, and each book pulls her into a new murder investigation that threatens to expose her hidden past.
Cox is a member of the Mystery Writers of America and the British Crime Writers Association. She splits her time between Florida and California.
