The Sisters Grimm is a nine-book children’s fantasy series written by Michael Buckley and illustrated by Peter Ferguson. The series follows Sabrina and Daphne Grimm, two sisters who are sent to live with their grandmother after their parents disappear. They soon learn that they are descendants of the Brothers Grimm and that fairy tale characters, called Everafters, are real and living in the town of Ferryport Landing, New York.
The first book, The Fairy Tale Detectives (2005), introduces the girls to their family legacy and the magical community hidden in their new hometown. Over the course of nine novels, the sisters solve mysteries involving giants, witches, and other Everafters while searching for clues about what happened to their parents. The series blends humor, mystery, and familiar fairy tale elements in a way that appeals to middle-grade readers.
The final book, The Council of Mirrors, was published in 2012. Buckley also released The Sisters Grimm Ultimate Guide in 2011, a companion non-fiction book for fans of the series. An animated television adaptation was released on Apple TV+ in 2025.
