Sarah Knight is an American author and former book editor who became famous for her brand of profanity-fueled self-help advice. Before writing her own books, she spent 15 years as an editor at Simon & Schuster, where she worked on bestselling titles across multiple genres. Her debut, The Life-Changing Magic of Not Giving a F*ck (2015), was a parody-inspired take on Marie Kondo’s decluttering philosophy, applied instead to mental clutter and unwanted obligations. The book became an international bestseller, translated into more than 30 languages.
Following her breakout success, Knight left publishing to write full-time and built out what became the “No Fcks Given Guides” series. Each book tackles a different aspect of modern life with the same irreverent, practical approach. Get Your Sht Together focuses on goal-setting, You Do You addresses self-acceptance, Calm the Fck Down deals with anxiety, and Fck No! covers the art of saying no. Her later titles, No Fcks Given and Grow the Fck Up, continue to blend humor with actionable strategies for everyday problems. Knight’s style appeals to readers who find traditional self-help too earnest or preachy and prefer their life advice with a heavy dose of comedy.
