Rachael Lippincott is a New York Times bestselling young adult author from Pittsburgh. She holds a BA in English Writing from the University of Pittsburgh and broke through with Five Feet Apart in 2018. The novel — about two teens with cystic fibrosis who can’t get within a few feet of each other without risking their lives — spent 60 weeks on the New York Times Bestseller List and sold over a million copies. A film adaptation starring Cole Sprouse and Haley Lu Richardson followed in 2019.
Since Five Feet Apart, Lippincott has written a steady stream of contemporary YA novels. Her books tend to focus on young love, identity, and self-discovery. The Lucky List follows a girl working through a bucket list left by her late mother. She Gets the Girl is a queer rom-com co-written with Alyson Derrick. Pride and Prejudice and Pittsburgh puts a modern Pittsburgh spin on the Austen classic.
Lippincott lives in Pittsburgh with her wife and their dog, Hank. Her writing stays rooted in accessible, emotional storytelling aimed at teen and young adult readers.
