Peter Crowther is a British author, editor, and publisher whose career spans more than three decades in horror, dark fantasy, and science fiction. He began contributing to anthologies in the early 1990s and quickly became one of the most active editors in the field. His own fiction tends toward atmospheric horror and melancholic fantasy, often set in small towns or quiet corners of everyday life where something has gone wrong beneath the surface.

In 1998, Crowther founded PS Publishing, an independent press based in Hornsea, East Yorkshire. The company has grown into one of the most respected small presses in genre fiction, publishing limited edition novellas, collections, and anthologies by major writers. Crowther has won the British Fantasy Award and the World Fantasy Award, and his editorial work alone accounts for more than 70 anthologies. His own fiction, collected in volumes like The Longest Single Note and Jewels in the Dust, has earned him a loyal readership among fans of literary horror and quiet, character-driven dark fiction.
