Pamela Fagan Hutchins is a native Texan who spent years as an employment attorney and workplace investigator — including time teaching legal writing at the University of Texas School of Law — before turning to fiction full time. That legal background shapes the procedural clarity of her mysteries, and her unusual biography supplies most of her settings. She lived in the U.S. Virgin Islands for nearly a decade, which gave her the Caribbean material for the Katie Connell books; she splits time between an off-the-grid Wyoming mountain lodge and a Maine cabin, which feed into her wilderness thrillers.

She is a USA Today bestselling author and Silver Falchion Award winner, with books translated into ten languages. Her What Doesn’t Kill You super series is her signature project — a linked collection of sub-series each following a different protagonist, all sharing a world of warm-climate crime and domestic disaster.
