Michael Fry is an American cartoonist and author who has worked across comic strips, middle grade novels, and picture books. He is best known for co-creating the syndicated comic strip Over the Hedge with writer T Lewis, which began in 1995 and was later turned into a 2006 DreamWorks animated film. The strip follows a raccoon, a turtle, and other forest creatures as they cope with the encroachment of suburbia on their woodland home.
Beyond his comic strip work, Fry has written several middle grade book series. The Odd Squad follows a group of misfit kids at a middle school, starting with Bully Bait in 2013. His How to Be a Supervillain series, which began in 2017, is a humorous take on a kid who comes from a long line of supervillains but would rather be a hero. He has also written the Naughty List books and the standalone middle grade novel Ghosted.
