M.J. Hollows was born in London in 1986 and later moved to Liverpool, where he lectured in Audio Engineering. He started writing Goodbye for Now as part of his MA in Writing at Liverpool John Moores University, graduating in 2015. He went on to earn his PhD in Creative Writing in 2024.
