Lynn Steger Strong is a Brooklyn-based author and writing instructor with an MFA from Columbia University. She teaches at Columbia, Fairfield University, and Pratt Institute. Her essays and criticism have appeared in The New York Times, Harper’s Bazaar, The Paris Review, and Time.
Her four novels cover different angles on family and class: Hold Still (2016) is her debut, Want (2020) follows a woman navigating financial collapse, Flight (2022) brings an extended family together for a winter holiday, and The Float Test (2025) follows siblings through a summer in Florida.
