Lisa de Nikolits is a South African-born author who immigrated to Canada in 2000. She has published eleven standalone novels since 2010, each exploring different genres while returning to themes of identity, obsession, and women under pressure.
Her books resist easy categorization. West of Wawa (2011) is a road-trip novel about a South African immigrant crossing Canada, while The Rage Room (2020) is a psychological thriller about a woman trapped in a virtual reality experiment. The Nearly Girl (2016) moves into speculative fiction territory, and The Witchdoctor’s Bones (2014) blends mystery with cultural exploration. De Nikolits is a member of Crime Writers of Canada, International Thriller Writers, and Sisters in Crime, and her work has won an Independent Publisher Book Award.
