Ling Ling Huang is an American author whose work blends literary fiction with horror and thriller elements. She trained as a classical pianist and competitive fencer before turning to writing, and both of those backgrounds inform her fiction.
Her debut novel, Natural Beauty (2023), follows a struggling pianist who takes a job at Holistik, a high-end beauty and wellness company. What starts as a corporate satire turns darker as the protagonist discovers that the company’s products and treatments are far more sinister than they appear. The book draws on Huang’s own experiences in competitive environments and explores how the beauty industry commodifies women’s bodies.
Immaculate Conception (2025) is her second novel. With just two books published so far, Huang has established herself as a writer interested in the ways institutions and industries exert control over bodies, particularly women’s bodies, through settings that start in the real world and gradually shift into something stranger.
