Lindsay Marcott began publishing in the late 1970s with The Sad Eyed Ladies (1977) and wrote several novels through the 1980s, including Caribe (1980) and Hide and Seek (1982). In the 1990s, she produced the Lucy Freers Mystery series, three books with playful double titles mixing Hollywood satire with murder mystery.
After a long gap from publishing, she returned with The Producer’s Daughter (2013) and then broke through with Mrs. Rochester’s Ghost (2021), a gothic-tinged thriller that reimagines Jane Eyre on the California coast. Shadow Sister (2022) continued her run of atmospheric psychological suspense.
