Linda Rui Feng was born in Shanghai and holds degrees from Harvard and Columbia. She is a professor of Chinese cultural history at the University of Toronto and has received two MacDowell Fellowships for her fiction. Her prose and poetry have appeared in The Kenyon Review, Washington Square Review, and other journals.
Her debut novel, Swimming Back to Trout River, was published in 2021 by Simon & Schuster and was named a finalist for the Center for Fiction’s First Novel Prize. Before turning to fiction, she published City of Marvel and Transformation, an academic study of Tang dynasty literati culture, through the University of Hawai’i Press.
