Lev A.C. Rosen writes across genres with a consistent focus on LGBTQ+ characters and themes. His Evander Mills series, beginning with Lavender House (2022), is a queer noir mystery set in 1950s San Francisco, where a fired police detective takes cases for a wealthy queer family. The series has grown to four books and has been praised for combining classic detective fiction with an honest portrayal of gay life in postwar America.
Under the name L.C. Rosen, he writes young adult fiction including Jack of Hearts (and other parts) (2018), about a gay teen navigating high school, and Camp (2020), set at a summer camp for LGBTQ+ youth. His earlier adult novels include All Men of Genius (2011), a steampunk retelling of The Importance of Being Earnest and Twelfth Night, and Depth (2015), a science fiction novel set in a flooded New York City.
The Tennessee Russo series for middle grade readers began with Lion’s Legacy (2023). His upcoming titles include You’ve Goth My Heart (2025) and The Disaster Gay Detective Agency (2026), continuing his pattern of genre fiction centered on queer characters.
