Kris Michaels grew up in small-town South Dakota before spending twenty-two years in the military. That background feeds directly into her writing, with characters shaped by service, sacrifice, and the complicated path back to civilian life. She now lives on the Gulf Coast and writes full time.

Her breakout series, Kings of Guardian, launched in 2015 and built a loyal readership through its blend of high-stakes action and slow-burn romance. The series follows the King family, who run Guardian Security, an elite private organization that tackles threats no government agency will touch. From there, Kris expanded the universe into multiple spin-off series, each exploring a different corner of the same world.

Beyond the Guardian universe, she has written small-town romantic suspense in The Long Road Home and the Hollister series, paranormal romance in the Everlight series (co-written with Patricia A. Knight), and contributed to multi-author branded series including SEALs in Paradise and Silver SEALs. She has appeared on the USA Today bestseller list more than twenty times and on the Wall Street Journal list three times.
