Kevin Hearne is an American author known for the Iron Druid Chronicles, an urban fantasy series that blends Celtic mythology with modern-day settings and a healthy dose of humor.
Born in 1970, Hearne earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Northern Arizona University and a master’s degree in English from Arizona State University. Before becoming a full-time writer, he taught high school and college English for several years.
The Iron Druid Chronicles launched in 2011 with three books released in rapid succession: Hounded, Hexed, and Hammered. The series became a New York Times bestseller and ran for nine main novels plus numerous novellas and short stories, concluding in 2018. Hearne has since started Ink & Sigil, a spinoff series following a different character in the same universe.
Hearne is known for his witty dialogue, extensive mythological research, and the memorable voice of Oberon, the telepathic Irish wolfhound who steals many scenes with his obsession with sausages and disdain for poodles. He currently lives in Colorado with his family.
