Katie Delahanty is a UCLA graduate and former fashion designer who spent five years creating romantic dresses sold at Anthropologie and Nordstrom before turning to fiction. Her writing career started almost by accident: while managing the e-commerce side of In Bloom Lingerie, she was asked to write the company blog. Instead of writing about lingerie, she created a fictional serial about a character named Olivia Bloom, which eventually became her first novel, In Bloom.
That blog-turned-book launched The Brightside series, three new adult romances mixing love, music, and Hollywood ambition. In 2020, Delahanty shifted to YA dystopian fiction with Keystone, published by Entangled Teen. Set in a future where social media influence is literally currency, the story follows a former social media star who joins a secret school for analog thieves. Its sequel, Incognito, followed in 2021.
Outside her series work, Delahanty has also written standalone novels including Disconnect and the 2025 romantic comedy Waiting for a Girl Like You, which follows a bridesmaid-for-hire who discovers the groom at a destination wedding is her first love.
