Karen Miller is an Australian fantasy author born in Vancouver, Canada, who moved to Australia at the age of two. After graduating from the University of Technology, Sydney, she spent three years in England before returning to Australia. She is best known for The Innocent Mage, the first book in her Kingmaker, Kingbreaker duology, and for the Godspeaker trilogy. She has also written Star Wars and Stargate SG-1 tie-in novels.

Under the pen name K.E. Mills, Miller writes a different kind of fantasy. The Rogue Agent series trades the weighty political intrigue of her epic work for slapstick mishaps and dry humor. The books follow Gerald Dunwoody, a hapless wizard who keeps stumbling into situations well above his pay grade, alongside a cast that includes a sharp-tongued princess and an opinionated talking bird.

Miller published four Rogue Agent novels between 2008 and 2011 through Orbit Books. The series begins with The Accidental Sorcerer, in which Gerald takes a job as court wizard for King Lional of New Ottosland, and continues through Witches Incorporated, Wizard Squared, and Wizard Undercover.
