Jessica Pan is a journalist and author who grew up in Texas before attending Brown University. Her writing has appeared in The Guardian, The Cut, Vice, and other publications. She has lived in several countries, including working as a TV reporter in Beijing before settling in London.
Her first book, Graduates in Wonderland (2014), co-written with Rachel Kapelke-Dale, is a memoir based on real emails exchanged between the two friends as they navigated adulthood in Beijing, Paris, and beyond. Her second book, Sorry I’m Late, I Didn’t Want to Come (2019), chronicles a year spent forcing herself to live like an extrovert: talking to strangers, doing stand-up comedy, hosting dinner parties, and traveling solo. The book is honest and funny, drawing on her own deep introversion to explore whether stepping outside your comfort zone makes life better.
