Jerome K. Jerome is best known for Three Men in a Boat, but his full catalog is far larger than most readers realize. His original works include novels, essays, plays, and short stories written in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, with titles like Idle Thoughts of an Idle Fellow, Novel Notes, and the memoir My Life and Times (1926). Many of his shorter pieces have been collected and repackaged over the decades, which accounts for the long tail of publication dates stretching into the 2010s and 2020s.

Jerome also has a strong presence in the ghost story and horror anthology world. His work appears in the Collins Chillers series (Dracula’s Brood, Three Men in the Dark, Ghosts in the House) and in numerous multi-author collections like 65 Great Spine Chillers and 100 Hair-Raising Little Horror Stories. The Found on The Shelves of The London Library series reprinted three of his non-fiction essays in 2016, covering topics as varied as corpulence, cycling, and the art of self-defence. Between the original works and the many posthumous collections, his bibliography runs to nearly fifty entries.
