Holly Seddon is a British author of psychological thrillers. She grew up in the West Country and has lived in London and Amsterdam. Her debut novel, Try Not to Breathe (2016), was a hit with thriller readers for its story of a journalist drawn into the mystery of a young woman left in a vegetative state after an attack years earlier.
Since then, Seddon has published six more novels, each built around dark secrets and the people who keep them. Don’t Close Your Eyes (2017) follows estranged twin sisters whose lives collide after a shocking event. The Short Straw (2023) is a domestic thriller about sisters returning to their childhood home and the buried history waiting for them there. Her books tend to feature flawed but sympathetic characters, and she has a knack for pacing that keeps pages turning. Her latest, 59 Minutes (2025), continues her run of tightly wound suspense novels.
