Francesca Hornak is a British writer who started her career in journalism before moving into books. Her non-fiction titles, History of the World in 100 Modern Objects (2015) and Worry with Mother (2016), are humor books in the tradition of British comic writing – the former riffs on everyday consumer culture and the latter on parental anxiety.
Her fiction debut, Seven Days of Us (2017), is a family drama set over Christmas when a family is forced into quarantine together. It received good reviews for its sharp observations of family dynamics and was compared to novels by Joanna Trollope. Her second novel, So Good to See You (2018), is another comedy of manners set around an awkward reunion.
Hornak has four books across two categories: two non-fiction humor titles and two standalone novels. Readers who enjoy British domestic comedy will find her fiction accessible and quick to read.
