Fenella J. Miller has been writing historical fiction and Regency romance since 2005, building one of the largest catalogues of any British author in the genre. Her work divides broadly into two strands: the Regency era, set among lords, ladies, and arranged matches in early nineteenth-century England, and the Second World War, following ordinary women through the upheaval of the 1940s.

Her WWII fiction centres on women who step into roles defined by the war around them. The Spitfire Girl follows an ATA pilot ferrying aircraft across wartime Britain. Barbara’s War traces a woman’s life through the conflict and its aftermath across eight books. Goodwill House and Harbour House place their characters in requisitioned country houses and seaside settings, where the pressures of war reshape daily life. The Girls in Blue follows women in the WAAF.

On the Regency side, she has written multiple connected series built around dukes, earls, and the social conventions of the era. The Duke series ran to nine books; The Duke’s Alliance to six; The Earl’s Disputed Inheritance to five. Many of her standalone novels also belong to this period, including Jane Austen-adjacent titles like Miss Bennet and Mr. Bingley. She publishes frequently and has shown no sign of slowing down, with the Harbour House series still ongoing as of 2026.
