Erich Krauss is a non-fiction writer best known for his books on mixed martial arts and combat sports. He has written or co-written instructional guides on Brazilian jiu-jitsu, muay thai, wrestling, and MMA technique, often collaborating with top fighters and coaches. His technique books include Guerrilla Jiu-Jitsu (2006), Muay Thai Unleashed (2006), Mastering the Rubber Guard (2006), and Mixed Martial Arts: The Book of Knowledge (2007).
Beyond instructional material, Krauss has written narrative non-fiction about people in extreme situations. On The Line (2004) follows U.S. Border Patrol agents, Wave of Destruction (2005) tells the story of tsunami survivors, and Wall of Flame (2006) chronicles wildfire firefighters. He also co-authored books with well-known MMA personalities, including Got Fight? (2009) and Be Ready When the Sht Goes Down* (2010) with Forrest Griffin, and Brawl (2011). In 2022, he published his first novel, Primitives.
