Emma Flint is a British author known for literary crime fiction that draws on real historical cases. She studied English at the University of St Andrews and holds a creative writing MA from the University of London. Her work focuses on women accused, judged, and punished by the societies around them.
Her debut novel Little Deaths (2017) is based on the real Alice Crimmins case from 1960s Queens, New York, following a young mother suspected of killing her children. The book was longlisted for the Bailey’s Women’s Prize for Fiction. Her second novel Other Women (2023) explores the true story of a 1920s murder case and the way women’s reputations are used against them in courtrooms and in life.
