Effie Kammenou is a first-generation Greek-American author from Long Island. She studied Theater Arts at Hofstra University and spent decades working in the optical field before turning to fiction. Her debut novel, Evanthia’s Gift, was published in 2015 and was inspired by her mother and her Greek heritage.
Her books draw heavily on Greek culture and family life, and she’s known for incorporating traditional Greek recipes into her stories. The Gift Saga follows a multigenerational love story spanning two continents and fifty years, while the Meraki series blends romance with baking and Greek history. She is a member of the Romance Writers of America and the Women Fiction Writers Association.
