Dru Pagliassotti is a professor of communication at California Lutheran University, where she teaches courses on media theory, Venetian culture, and comic books. Outside the classroom, she writes steampunk fantasy and horror fiction and has run The Harrow Press, which publishes horror anthologies.
Her best-known work is the Clockwork Heart trilogy, a steampunk romance set in a rigidly stratified city called Ondinium. The first book was originally published by Juno Books in 2008, and EDGE Science Fiction and Fantasy Publishing later reissued it along with the sequels Clockwork Lies: Iron Wind and Clockwork Secrets: Heavy Fire in 2014. She has also written the standalone horror novel An Agreement with Hell (2010) and contributed to or edited several horror anthologies, including Fear of the Unknown, Corsets & Clockwork, and Mortis Operandi.
