Don Brown spent five years on active duty as a Navy JAG officer, including time at the Pentagon, before turning to writing. His first novel, Treason (2005), drew on that experience to create Zack Brewer — a Navy JAG attorney navigating terrorism cases and courts-martial — and both Treason and The Malacca Conspiracy reached number one on Amazon’s fiction bestseller list.
He publishes through Zondervan, the Christian publishing imprint of HarperCollins, and his work reflects his faith as well as his military background. Beyond fiction, he has written non-fiction works about military aviation (The Last Fighter Pilot) and the fall of Mariupol (83 Days in Mariupol: A War Diary, which he also adapted as a graphic novel). The Pacific Rim series ran alongside the Zack Brewer books and shares their military backdrop and geopolitical concerns.
