Daniel Easterman is the pen name of Denis MacEoin, born in Belfast in 1949. MacEoin holds degrees from Trinity College Dublin, the University of Edinburgh, and a PhD from King’s College Cambridge, all focused on Islamic and Middle Eastern studies. He taught at universities in Morocco and England before turning to fiction.
His thrillers draw on his deep knowledge of religious history, political conflict, and the Middle East. Books like The Last Assassin, Brotherhood of the Tomb, and The Ninth Buddha deal in international conspiracies, religious extremism, and ancient secrets. He also writes supernatural fiction under the name Jonathan Aycliffe. His novels were popular throughout the 1990s and 2000s, with several becoming bestsellers in the UK and Europe.
