Dalton Fury was the pen name of Thomas Greer, a retired U.S. Army Delta Force officer who turned his combat experience into both non-fiction and fiction. His first book, Kill Bin Laden (2008), is a firsthand account of the Battle of Tora Bora in December 2001, where Greer led the Delta Force team tasked with tracking down Osama bin Laden in the mountains of eastern Afghanistan. The book brought him national attention and became a bestseller.

After Kill Bin Laden, Fury shifted to fiction with the Delta Force thriller series, beginning with Black Site in 2012. These novels follow a fictional Delta Force operative named Kolt “Racer” Raynor on high-stakes counter-terrorism missions around the world. Fury’s military background gave the books a level of tactical detail that set them apart from typical action thrillers. The series continued through six novels, with the last two, All Lines Black and Execute Authority, published in 2017 after Greer’s death in 2016.
