D.B.C. Pierre was born Peter Warren Finlay in Australia and now lives in Ireland. His debut novel Vernon God Little (2003) won the Man Booker Prize, the Whitbread Prize for Best First Novel, and the Bollinger Everyman Wodehouse Award, making him the first writer to win both the Booker and Whitbread for the same book. The novel has been sold in 43 countries.
